A pair of coaches coming off successful campaigns will man the sidelines this summer for the 36th annual Times-Reporter Charities All-Star Football Game.

The game will be played July 26 at Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Taking the reins for the East will be New Philadelphia coach Matt Dennison, while Garaway’s Jason Wallick will coach the West.

Both coaches took their teams into playoff action this past season.

Dennison’s Quakers went 8-2 on the season, qualifying for the playoffs in Division II, where they dropped a 35-32 decision at Aurora.

Wallick guided the Pirates to a 10-0 mark in the regular season, just the second perfect season in school history.

The Pirates hosted a        first-round Division V game, falling 64-48 to Youngstown Ursuline.

Both coaches sport impressive resumes.

Dennison has a 76-29 record at New Philadelphia after taking over the program in 2003.

He was the head coach at Claymont for two years, posting a 12-8 record.

A graduate of Walsh University, where he was a captain on the baseball team, Dennison attended Wadsworth High School.

His teams at New Philadelphia won ECOL titles in 2004 and 2005 and qualified for the playoffs five times.

Wallick is a 1994 graduate of Dover High School. He played many positions for Coach Jeff Souers, but was a standout at defensive end, which he played in the 1994 North-South All-Star Game.

He played outside linebacker at Malone, where he was a four-year letterman and a two-time All-American. He is a member of the Malone University Hall of Fame.

In 12 years at Garaway, Wallick has become the school’s winningest head coach with a record of 76-47. His teams have two playoff appearances, two Inter-Valley Conference titles and have finished as      runners-up three times.

Both coaches have experience in previous all-star games.

Wallick coached in 2005. This will be Dennison’s fourth game.

He coached the East in 2003, 2004 and 2006.

As in previous years, proceeds from the game will benefit the Rainbow Connection.

Last year’s game resulted in a donation of $8,600.

To date, the game has generated more than $303,000 for various charities.
