UHRICHSVILLE Nick Merrick passed for 400 yards and six touchdowns as Claymont rolled over Carrollton 55-25 in a prep football game Friday night.

DOVER  After Dover’s 58-14 high school football win at Carrollton on Thursday night, Tornado head coach Dan Ifft was hard pressed to find something he didn’t like about his team’s play in its season opener.

CARROLLTON  Dover didn’t wait to shine under the lights at Community Field.

The Tornadoes did it in the bright sunshine.

And under the lights as well.

Dover coach Dan Ifft wondered how his former junior varsity players would react under varsity conditions.

Shoes to fill
There’s no doubt the Warriors will miss John Lowdermilk, a versatile quarterback who led the team in rushing and was Carrollton’s leading tackler at linebacker. Robbie Smith and Tyler Sheets were the Warriors’ top two receivers. Zach Ketchum was their top lineman.
