A 6-foot-2, 260-pound senior, Zucal said he will play center and work as the team’s long-snapper at Mercyhurst.
A three-year starter at New Philadelphia, Zucal plan on majoring in Intelligence Studies.
Mercyhurst is a Division II college in Erie, Pa., and plays in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Also from the New Philadelphia team, Joe Behrendt, a kicker, wide receiver and defensive back, finished his acceptance process last week and will attend West Point. Behrendt said he would like to play football for the Cadets, but has been involved with the application procedures and hasn’t focused on the issue as of yet.
A.J. Dalton of Carrollon will attend Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh.
Meanwhile, Coshocton’s Marcus Johnston will play for the South in the annual Ohio North-South Classic to be played at Ohio Stadium on April 23. Johnston, a 6-foot, 205-pound running back, is undecided as to a college choice.
Former Coshocton head coach Marty Arganbright will serve as an assistant coach to head coach Mark Crabtree of Dublin Coffman in the game.
