Massillon senior Gareon Conley began this football season expecting to wear the maize and blue of  Michigan. Now, it appears, he will be wearing the scarlet and gray of Ohio State. Conley switched his verbal commitment to the Buckeyes on Friday, Massillon coach Jason Hall confirmed. Conley was in Columbus on Friday to finish up his official visit to the school.

Conley, who met with Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer today during his official visit could not be reached for comment Friday night.

A first-team All-Ohioan this season as a wide receiver, Conley had 50 catches for 1,096 yards and 16 touchdowns. It was his emergence at receiver that led him to look elsewhere besides Michigan, where he was expected to play cornerback.

Conley began wavering on his Michigan commitment during the season, opening the door for other programs to swoop in to grab him. Schools such as Oregon and Cincinnati were reportedly also interested, with the Ducks even sending a coach out to watch Conley in practice.
