Howard, Potts, Grunder, Garman lead Northeast Inland District team

Updated: Friday, November 20, 2009
A 2,000-yard rusher, a couple of hard-hitting linebackers and playmaking safety highlight the 2009 Associated Press Northeast Inland All-District football team.

The team honors the top high school football players in each of the six divisions. It is chosen by a media panel representing the nine-county district.

Hoover senior Erick Howard, the state’s reigning Mr. Football, is the district’s Division I Offensive Player of the Year. He rushed for 2,053 yards this season, becoming Stark County’s career leader in rushing and scoring.

Two area seniors share the Division I honor as Defensive Player of the Year — GlenOak linebacker Andrew Garman and Massillon safety Bo Grunder. Garman helped the Golden Eagles reach the playoffs in each of his three years as a starter, leading them to their first Federal League title in 15 years. Grunder has eight interceptions, four fumble recoveries and 102 tackles heading into Massillon’s regional final with McKinley tonight.

In Division II, Louisville senior linebacker Hunter Potts is a co-Defensive Player of the Year. Potts made 91 tackles, including 19 for losses, in helping the Leopards to a 10-0 season and NBC title.

GlenOak’s Scott Garcia and Louisville’s Paul Farrah are coaches of the year in Divisions I and II, respectively, after guiding their teams to league titles.

similar to the Air Jordan

similar to the Air Jordan 14. This colorway features an upper made of black suede and white leather. Instead of using shoe wholesale Chole Handbags Nike Air Shox R4 wholesale True Religion laces, Jordan Brand decided to use a zipper. Varsity Red accents appear on areas such as the branding, parts of the sole, and the Jumpman on the heel area. The colorway isn’t the best, but I absolutely love the design. If you are really feeling these, you can pick up a pair now at retailers such as Eastbay.
