Dom Dixon set the tone for Copley as he had touchdown runs of 32 and 28 yards in the third quarter after a scoreless first half and the Indians went on to win the season opener 14-6. Lighting moved the Friday game to Saturday afternoon after it was officially postponed with time left in the first quarter. Jackson scored once in the fourth on a Rob Calhoun touchdown pass of 5 yards from Grant Feanor to close the gap to 8, but that was all the scoring for the Polar Bears. Copley finished with 205 yards rushing, 152 of them by Dixon. Will Logan led the way for Jackson with 15 carries for 76 yards and added four receptions for 40 yards.
