NORTH CANTON Junior running back Erick Howard finished with 200 yards on the ground on 39 carries and two touchdowns to help lead the Vikings to a win over Massillon during a Division I Region 2 quarterfinal football game.
Howard caught a screen pass from Brett Tulodzieski and ran for 59 yards to the Massillon two yard line that set up the Vikings first score of the game to make it, 7-7.
With 10:17 left in the fourth quarter, Howard got the handoff from Tulodzieski and broke several tackles on his way to a 49-yard TD run and the game winner. Hoover held the ball most of the fourth quarter and had possession for 31:50 in the contest.
The Tigers' lone score came on a 1-yard TD run by J.T. Turner in the second quarter. Turner finished the game with 47 yards rushing.
