HANOVERTON Quarterback Shawn Ball had a huge night, scoring five touchdowns in Malvern's season-opening 56-26 win over Hanoverton United.

Ball was 12-of-18 passing for 216 yards with three touchdowns. He also added two rushing touchdowns on 18 carries for 97 yards.

Max Karpon was Malvern's leading receiver, catching five passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. Travis Tucci and Clay Davis both added 37 yards and a touchdown for the Hornets.

Garret Beech was the leading rusher for United, rushing 16 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
