AKRON Tyler Miller's interception inside the McKinley 5-yard line with 33 seconds to play Saturday preserved a 10-7 Massillon victory over McKinley in a Division I regional final at InfoCision Stadium.
McKinley took over with just less than two minutes to play after Massillon QB Robert Partridge fumbled through the end zone for a touchback and the Bulldogs' posession.
McKinley drove the length of the field but Miller stepped into a Kyle Ohrazansky pass, and the Tigers ran out the clock to advance to the state semifinals.
Jake Reiman's 1-yard touchdown run and Jeremy Geier's 21-yard field goal gave Massillon a 10-0 lead in the second quarter. McKinley got on the scoreboard when Angelo Powell pulled in an 8-yard TD pass from Ohradzansky eight seconds before halftime.
The offenses were held in check throughout the second half until Massillon running back Jake Reiman led a late drive that ended with Partridge's fumble.
Reiman finished with 127 yards on 27 carries. Bryce Wilder led McKinley with 78 yards on 19 carries. Elijah Farrakhan added 60 yards on seven carries.
