Todd Filtz’s bosses never did a written evaluation of him after his second season as McKinley’s football coach. His first evaluation, however, showed signs of discipline concerns. Thom McDaniels’ approach is something McKinley Principal Ruth Zitnik knows well because she watched him turn Warren Harding’s program around.

Klinefelter made official Wednesday what had been rampantly speculated all football season, that he was retiring from his role as the head coach — and athletic director — at Central Catholic. And Stark County football may never be quite the same. OK, that last part might be a bit of hyperbole. Only a bit, though.
